Two ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ sat in the most expensive Yankee Stadium seats
The fans took up John Oliver's offer on the premium seats
On HBO’s Last Week Tonight on Sunday, host John Oliver announced that, for 25 cents, he would sell two ‘Legends’ section seats in Yankee Stadium for each of the Yankees’ first three games of the season against the Houston Astros.
The catch?
“You must dress like you have never sat in a premium location before,” Oliver said. “What that means can be up to you.”
The comedian had contestants tweet a photo of what they would wear to the game with the hashtag #IHaveNeverSatInAPremiumLocation.
And that’s exactly what a couple of winners did, attending Tuesday’s Opening Day game dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles right behind home plate.

The contest came after the Yankees, in an attempt to prevent fraud, got rid of the option to print tickets at home this season, causing many fans to argue that selling their tickets online is now much more difficult — and many found online purchasing to be a convenient way of getting more affordable tickets last-minute.
When the concern was brought up to Yankees COO Lonn Trost in a radio interview with WFAN, he explained that premium seat holders don’t like to sit next to fans who “have never sat in a premium location.”
However, Yankees president Randy Levine stressed that fans of all kinds are welcome in any seat.
“Everyone is welcome at Yankee Stadium,” Levine told ESPN on Monday. “And I thank John Oliver for buying Yankees tickets.”
