The Revolution traded midfielder Lee Nguyen, 31, to Los Angeles Football Club Tuesday night. They received $700,000 in allocation money, and the potential of up to $950,000 based on the deal’s conditions.

Nguyen is second all time in goals and assists in franchise history.

“On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank Lee for his years of service,’’ said Revolution general manager Michael Burns. “Every decision is made in the best interest of the club, and we feel this move helps strengthen our team now and puts us in the best position to succeed in years to come.’’

Nguyen joined the Revolution in 2012 and spent six seasons as one the league’s top attacking midfielders. In his regular-season career, Nguyen played 191 games with 185 starts, 51 goals, and 49 assists. In the postseason, he had two goals and four assists.
