Watch the New England Revolution beat Tim Howard for a last-second, game-winning free kick
The New England Revolution got their first win of the 2018 season in dramatic fashion Saturday.
With virtually the last kick of the ball in their home-opener, Revs veteran Chris Tierney scored on a game-winning free kick to beat the Colorado Rapids. Former United States men’s national team goalie Tim Howard could only watch as the deflected, close-range shot hit the back of the net.
Chris Tierney ➕ left foot = you know the rest.

First-year Revs coach (and fellow former USMNT goalie) Brad Friedel was as happy as anyone with the goal.

The 2-1 win gave New England a 1-1 record in the young MLS season. Tierney, a 32-year-old Wellesley native and the longest-tenured Revolution player, said after the game that the tough, cold-weather victory felt great.
