Revs coach Jay Heaps proves he’s still pretty good at soccer
Rain, rain, go away.
Forced into a two hour delay by a thunderstorm during the first half of a U.S. Open Cup game on Wednesday night, New England Revolution players teamed up with their coach to pass the time. Stuck in the locker room as the inclement weather passed overhead, Revolution head coach Jay Heaps showed that he still has the skill that once made him a stalwart MLS player.
Filmed by Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen, who posted the video to his Instagram, Heaps went “around the world” with locker room headers:

After waiting for two hours and 14 minutes, the game between the Revolution and the Carolina RailHawks resumed. And finally, in overtime, 20-year-old midfielder Zachary Herivaux (from Beaver Country Day School) scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory. The Revolution move on to the round of 16 in the cup competition.
