"Just echoing before, every single team is really good, and to be able to close out the door and get three points tonight is big for us.”

Boston Fleet captain Hilary Knight was recognized by the PWHL after she dominated on the ice over the past week.

Knight was named the league’s First Star of the Week for games from March 3-9, with the 35-year-old forward scoring her first career PWHL hat trick and adding an assist in Wednesday’s 5-2 victory over New York Sirens at the Tsongas Center.

“That was wild. I’m really fortunate to be able to get a hat trick. It’s my first in the league, so it is really exciting,” Knight said following Wednesday’s win. “Just echoing before, every single team is really good, and to be able to close out the door and get three points tonight is big for us.”

Knight’s strong play has helped push the Fleet up the PWHL standings, with Boston currently in the midst of a seven-game point streak (3-2-2-0) following Saturday’s OT loss to Montreal at Agganis Arena.

Knight leads the Fleet with 11 goals and 21 total points over 22 games this season — with her 11 tallies second in the league behind only Montreal’s Marie-Philip Poulin. Knight is also tied for third in points with Minnesota’s Kendall Coyne Schofield (10-11—21) and Toronto’s Daryl Watts (6-15—21).

Knight and the Fleet will return to the ice on Saturday when Boston takes on the Charge at TD Place in Ottawa.
