A busy schedule has suited the Boston Fleet well as they picked up their second win in as many days with a 4-1 victory over the New York Sirens in Newark, N.J.

Hilary Knight scored twice to give her eight on the season, the first coming shortly after the penalty-killing unit fended off a five-on-three for a full two minutes, and Aerin Frankel made 35 saves.

The Fleet (6-3-2-6, 26 points) have won three of four in the last six days and won all four meetings so far with the Sirens.

Hannah Brandt and Emily Brown gave New York a two-player advantage at 9:49 of the second by each taking a penalty on the same shift.

Frankel, who recorded a shutout against the Sirens last week, made five saves during the five-on-three. She has nine games with 25 or more saves this season, tying New York’s Corinne Schroeder for the league lead.

Knight put the Fleet in front, 2-1, less than three minutes after Boston killed off the penalties. Alina Müller won the puck along the wall in the defensive zone, sent a cross-ice pass off the boards to Knight who broke in alone as a Sirens defender fell down and beat Sirens netminder Kayle Osborne with a forehand just inside the far post with 5:33 left.

Müller, who opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal, has 11 points in her last eight games.

“We had a tough schedule the last few days, a lot of traveling and had to be real pros taking care of our bodies,” Müller said on the TV broadcast. “That was a really hard game. Super happy with the team effort.”

Ella Shelton lost control of the puck in her defensive zone which led to Jamie Lee Rattray giving the Fleet a two-goal cushion. The loose puck went straight to Boston’s Daniela Pejsova, who missed the net but Rattray sent a pass from behind the goal line out in front, only to have it deflect off Osborne’s skate and in for her third goal of the year.

Knight added an empty-net goal with 2:15 left, her team-high eighth of the season, which has her tied for second in the PWHL. Her 16 points are tied for fourth in the league.

Jessie Eldridge scored the lone New York goal on the power play 3:34 into the second period.

The Fleet continue their four-game road trip Thursday in Ottawa. Boston will see New York once again Sunday in Buffalo, N.Y., as part of the Takeover Tour.
