Aly Raisman gave Kelly Ripa a gymnastics lesson on ‘Live with Kelly’

Aly Raisman is not only performing gymnastics, she’s also coaching it.

The six-time Olympic medalist appeared on Live with Kelly Tuesday morning to talk about the USA gymnastics tour and give host Kelly Ripa a lesson in handstands and cartwheels.

While on the show, the Needham native also talked about her trip to the White House last week with fellow members of the Final Five.

“We got to have private time with [first lady Michelle Obama] and [President Barack Obama], which was so cool,” Raisman said during the interview. “We were so excited and he was trying to do the splits. He’s not very good at it, but that’s OK. … He gets a 10 for the effort.”

Raisman added that when the topic of Halloween came up, she and her fellow Team USA gymnasts had a suggestion for the president and first lady.

“We told them that they should be us for Halloween and we should be them,” she said. “He said yes, but I’m not sure if he was just trying to be nice so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
