U.S. gold medal hurdler Kerron Clement once appeared in a Beyoncé video
The fastest man in the 400-meter hurdles made a cameo in "Run the World (Girls)."
Kerron Clement won the gold medal in the men’s 400-meter hurdles at the Rio Olympics on Thursday, holding off the late challenge of Kenya’s Boniface Mucheru. It was his second gold medal and a crowning career achievement.
Aside from being an Olympian with multiple gold medals, Clement has another notable distinction. He was once handpicked by Beyoncé to appear in her music video for “Run the World (Girls).”
The 30-year-old hurdler attended a tryout for the Beyoncé video in 2011, but it actually wasn’t for himself. There only because of his friend, fate intervened when Clement was put into a lineup of actors that Beyoncé chose from.
“She chose the guys she wanted in the video and chose me,” Clement told the Associated Press. “I really was there to support a friend.”
Clement can be seen in the video here, standing next to Beyoncé’s and wearing goggles:
