Danny Amendola is reportedly signing with the Texans

Amendola is set to sign with Houston on a one-year deal for $2.5 million.

The former Patriots wide receiver is going back home after spending two years with the Lions.

Former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is reportedly signing with his home team, the Houston Texans, according to a tweet by Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

Amendola is set to sign with the Texans on a one-year deal for $2.5 million. The 35-year-old is from The Woodlands, Texas, just outside of Houston, and played at Texas Tech during his college career.

Several teams had reached out to Amendola, who was an unrestricted free agent prior in 2021.

Amendola played for the Patriots from 2013 to 2017, before being signed onto the Miami Dolphins for two years at $12 million. However, he was released in 2019, and spent the last two years with the Detroit Lions. With Detroit in 2020, Amendola had 46 catches for 602 yards.
