Max Kellerman admits he was very wrong about Tom Brady falling off a cliff

After Tom Brady advanced to yet another Super Bowl, an ESPN analyst who forecasted his imminent demise back in 2016 had no choice but to acknowledge how far off he was five years ago.

Max Kellerman predicted then on ESPN’s “First Take” that Brady’s career was essentially over. He called Brady the greatest quarterback to ever live, yet he appeared very confident the end was near.

“Tom Brady’s just about done,” Kellerman said. “It could be his next game he plays, it could be a year from now, but he is going to fall off a cliff.”

Brady, 43, has since captured his fifth Super Bowl in 2017, his sixth in 2019, and is now one win over the Kansas City Chiefs away from earning his seventh – in his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – and extending his own record.

Kellerman poked fun at himself Sunday night after Brady booked a trip to his 10th Super Bowl, and fourth in the last five seasons.

“Tom Brady has had a full Hall of Fame career…in the time SINCE I made the cliff prediction,” Kellerman wrote.

The Buccaneers and Chiefs are set to meet Sunday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
