Sports Q: Who is your sleeper pick for Super Bowl MVP?

We all know the quarterback of the winning team will be the Super Bowl MVP if he has the stats. But for the heck of it, who would your pick be as a real sleeper to win the MVP, like Desmond Howard winning it as a kick returner in Super Bowl 31 against the Pats? Mine is Rex Burkhead. For some reason they like to give him goal-line carries. He might pick up a couple of TDs. – Sam S.
Interesting question. If the Pats win, the MVP will probably be Brady, but I could see James White, Julian Edelman, or Stephon Gilmore being in the mix. Maybe even Gronk. For the Rams, I’m skeptical that Goff is going to play well, but I could easily see Aaron Donald being the MVP if the Rams prevail. Todd Gurley too. And they’re probably hoping Brandin Cooks has a better Super Bowl than he did last year.
But for a real sleeper? Hmmm. In the spirit of Howard winning it, how about Cordarelle Patterson? That’s a real longshot, obviously, but every time he returns a kick you feel like he has a chance. And it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he’s a featured player in a trick play or two.
But what does everyone else think? Who is your sleeper pick (no QBs) for Super Bowl MVP? I’ll hear you in the comments.
