Texas highway signs poke fun at both Patriots and Rams ahead of Super Bowl

They referenced the missed pass interference call and Deflategate.

The North Texas Tollway Authority’s main goal is to bring safety to the local highways.

With that in mind, it’s not afraid to have a little fun along the way.

The highway has featured two Super Bowl-themed signs. One, a not-so-subtle jab at the Los Angeles Rams, read: “If a Ram interferes with your car dial #999.” The reference, of course, is to the infamous missed pass interference call in the NFC Championship game – though theoretically, if an actual ram darted across the road and smashed your vehicle, you’d likely be encouraged do the same thing.

The second, an even-less-subtle-jab, is a reference to the still-frequently referenced Patriots saga, Deflategate. “Tire flat as a Patriots football dial #999.” The incident transpired in 2015, but many are still infatuated with in 2019.

It’s unclear whether the signs have distracted any football-crazed drivers to this point, but they have made their way around the internet.

The Patriots and Rams will battle in the Super Bowl on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
