After Nike revealed a new advertising campaign featuring former quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the NFL released a statement on Tuesday.
In it, executive Jocelyn Moore reiterated the league’s stated goal to “promote meaningful, positive change in our communities.” Here’s the full statement, shared on Twitter by reporter Ian Rapoport.

The 30-year-old hasn’t played in the NFL since the end of the 2016 season, when he knelt during pregame national anthems. And since Oct. 2017, Kaepernick has been in a legal dispute with the league over alleged collusion. The case is ongoing:
