After Josh McDaniels reversed course, Indianapolis Colts fans needed photographic evidence to believe their team had actually signed a new head coach.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Frank Reich signed a five-year deal to replace Chuck Pagano as the Colts’ head coach.

Reich won Super Bowl LII as the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator, and Indianapolis owner Jim Irsay released a statement saying, “We are extremely excited to announce Frank Reich as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts…I feel extremely fortunate and could not be more excited for Colts Nation and the future of our franchise.”

But Colts Nation had heard it all before, and wanted hard proof this time around. One fan tweeted back at Schefter, saying, “Need to see him holding today’s newspaper.”

The Colts obliged.

The team’s Twitter account tweeted a picture of Reich, Irsay, and a copy of Sunday’s Indianapolis Star.

The Colts also sent out a picture of Reich inking the deal, a necessary inclusion after they announced the McDaniels hiring before the Patriots offensive coordinator had signed the bottom line.
