Vince Wilfork, Jadeveon Clowney, and the friendship at the heart of Texans’ defense

HOUSTON — While he was on his free agent tour at the Houston Texans facilities two years ago, Vince Wilfork walked through the training room and saw all the potential he needed to see going through a rehab routine.

Jadeveon Clowney, the 6-foot-5-inch, 270-pound specimen in whom the Texans had invested a No. 1 overall pick in 2014, was working to regain the strength in his left knee after tearing his meniscus three games into his professional career and sitting out the bulk of his rookie season.
