Patriots host former top-10 draft pick for free-agent visit
Jedrick Wills started 57 games at left tackle for the Cleveland Browns from 2020-24.
The New England Patriots are doing their due diligence before NFL free agency starts in earnest next week.
According to MassLive’s Mark Daniels, the Patriots hosted veteran offensive tackle Jedrick Wills earlier this week. The former Browns offensive lineman is eligible to sign with any NFL team after missing the entire 2025 campaign due to injury.
“Wills is expected to visit more NFL teams in the coming weeks,” Daniels wrote.
Wills was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by Cleveland, with the former Alabama lineman starting 57 games at left tackle for the Browns.

There is some history between Wills and Mike Vrabel, as they crossed paths in 2024 when Vrabel was a coaching and personnel consultant in Cleveland, primarily working with offensive linemen and tight ends.
Wills, who won a national championship with the Crimson Tide, was the second offensive lineman taken off the board during the 2020 NFL Draft after Andrew Thomas (No. 4 overall, New York Giants).
Injuries have derailed Wills’ career as of late. He suffered a torn MCL after playing in eight games during the 2023 season and only appeared in five games the following year due to lingering knee issues.

He opted to sit out the entire 2025 season to fully recover.
The Patriots have committed to Will Campbell as the team’s starting left tackle moving forward — despite his poor play during Super Bowl LX against Seattle. But, even if Campbell rights the ship, New England could use some reinforcements, especially with starting right tackle Morgan Moses turning 35 years old earlier this week.
New England’s backup offensive tackles in Vederian Lowe (left tackle) and Thayer Munford (right tackle) are also unrestricted free agents this offseason.
