The Patriots received some welcome news on Thursday, with cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga able to fully participate at practice.
Gonzalez, who left last Sunday’s wild-card win against the Chargers early because of a head injury, has been going through the NFL’s concussion protocol this week.
Gonzalez did not allow any catches against the Chargers while the Patriots held Los Angeles to three points.
On Thursday, Gonazlez was able to practice without a red non-contact jersey.
Tonga has been out since Dec. 21 with a foot injury. He was a limited participant on Wednesday, but his participation status changed to full on Thursday. Tonga has 24 tackles this season and has also been used as a short-yardage fullback. He told reporters that he “feels good” and is optimistic that he will play on Sunday.
Cornerback Alex Austin, who spent several weeks on injured reserve with a wrist injury, was also a full participant. Tight-end Hunter Henry (knee) and running back Terrell Jennings (concussion protocol) rounded out the players listed on the injury report as full participants. Henry caught the Patriots’ only touchdown in the wild-card game.
Linebacker Anfernee Jennings, edge rusher Harold Landry, offensive tackle Morgan Moses, and offensive tackle Thayer Munford were all limited with knee injuries.
All Patriots players participated at Thursday’s practice.

Four Texans players did not participate in practice on Thursday. Receiver Nico Collins, fresh off of his third consecutive 1,000 yard season, missed his second-straight day of practice with a concussion.
Defensive end Denico Autry was out with a knee injury. Former Patriot Trent Brown was out with an ankle injury. Receiver Justin Watson was out with a concussion.
The Patriots have one practice left on the schedule before hosting the Texans at Gillette Stadium in the divisional round on Sunday.
