This Sunday’s contest between the Patriots and Ravens has major implications for both sides, as both teams still have a shot at winning their respective divisions.
The Patriots (11-3) have the AFC East in their control, as they can win out and guarantee their first title since 2019. The Ravens (7-7), while currently second in the AFC North, can also win their division if they win their remaining games, as they play the Steelers in Week 18.
After a 1-5 start to the year, the Ravens have turned things around and now sit at 7-7. This recovery has coaches, players, and fans excited about the last few games, starting with the Patriots.
“Sunday night football in Baltimore is always something to get up for, so we’re looking forward to it,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh began his interview with on Monday. “The opportunity to play a very meaningful game late in December is well-earned in this league.”
Coming off a 24-0 win over the Bengals, the Ravens should come in with confidence, but Harbaugh still knows to be worried about the Patriots’ offense.
“Big plays is the biggest thing when you look at their offense,” Harbaugh told reporters. “They’ve just had a bunch of big plays, big runs. That rookie running back is fast and explosive. Boy you better have your angles set up on him.”
This rookie he’s talking about is Treveyon Henderson, who broke out for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills. After a slow start to the year, Henderson has impressed since the middle of the season, and has seven touchdowns in New England’s last five games.

Along with Henderson, Drake Maye is still playing at an MVP level. Throwing for 3,567 yards and 23 touchdowns this year, Maye sits fifth in passing yards in the league and is among the favorites to win MVP.
“Maye’s made some nice throws, sometimes he runs around,” Harbaugh continued. “But he’s made some big throws, play-actions and things like that. Kind of a big play offense that can run the ball. That’s a combination that you have to be concerned about.”
All eyes around the AFC will be on Sunday night’s game, as both teams look to keep things rolling into the playoffs.
