Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Cardi B cheered on her boyfriend Stefon Diggs from the owner’s suite at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
The couple is expecting a child together. During a September interview with CBS News, Cardi B said the baby is due before her tour kicks off in February.
Diggs was asked in the locker room how it felt to score a touchdown with a special guest in the building.
“It was alright. I think she was a little late, so I don’t know yet,” Diggs said when asked after the game about how it felt to score with a “special guest” in the building. “I’ve got to go my homework. I’ve got to watch the tape on that one.”
She even tried to imitate his celebration. The veteran receiver scored on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye in the second quarter that gave the Patriots a 14-point lead.
Diggs said it was her idea to mimic his moves. He said he did not teach her the dance.
“She picked it up on her own,” Diggs said. “Dance moves are a little shaky, though, so I’ll look into that for y’all.”
Cardi B witnessed the closest Patriots game of the season in person while seated next to team owner Robert Kraft. The Falcons missed an extra point that would have tied the game with 4:40 remaining in the fourth quarter.
New England was able to run out the clock and keep the Falcons from getting the ball back, giving the Patriots a 1-point victory.
The award-winning rapper said she enjoyed her time in Foxborough.
“We at the Gillette Stadium, as you can see we’re out here in Boston having a little tea party,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram story. “A nice TD party, how about that? Big TD party.”
The win extended the Patriots’ win streak to six games. The Patriots will head to Tampa Bay for a much-anticipated matchup with the Buccaneers next Sunday.
“Just resilient. Winning the games in front of you,” Diggs said of the win. “We’re back to being on the road, back to being a road warrior, but keep you eyes in front of you. Don’t worry about what’s behind you. Keep getting better as a football team. I feel like we’re getting better.”\
“I remember earlier in the season I kind of talked about learning from those losses,” Diggs added. “As we learn from this win I feel like there’s a lot of things we can do better, you know what I’m saying? From a receiver’s standpoint, mainly. I always burn my own lamp first.”
