Patriots’ posted Mike Vrabel’s locker room speech after win vs. Saints
"We will never get to the point where we're not going to celebrate wins."
After another win, it was time for another celebratory postgame locker room video from the Patriots.
In what is becoming a small (new) tradition, New England was quick to share video of the latest speech made by Mike Vrabel to his team following a win. Vrabel’s words after the 25-19 victory over the Saints reflected the imperfect nature of an up-and-down game.
“We will never get to the point where we’re not going to celebrate wins,” Vrabel told his team. He seemed to be aware that his players weren’t thrilled with their performances even after securing a third straight win.
“I like where we’re headed that we can sit there and say that we can play so much better, and you guys are already thinking like that. I can tell that you’re not satisfied, but I’m still going to demand that we celebrate this s*** for a couple hours,” Vrabel reminded his team.
The first-year New England coach has guided the Patriots to a 4-2 record through six games, its best start in years.
Even as he knows the team has to keep improving, Vrabel credited the depth of his roster for coming through in New Orleans.
“Improving along the way, finding ways to win, working together, give them all the damn game-balls on me,” he said in closing.
He also waited outside the locker room to shake hands with each player, another burgeoning tradition:
The Patriots will face the Titans in Tennessee next Sunday at 1 p.m. New England is now 4-2 through six games, second in the AFC East (trailing the 4-1 Bills, who play the Falcons on Monday night).
