Williams was a limited participant on Wednesday before being downgraded to out on Thursday.
FOXBOROUGH — Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams did not participate in practice on Wednesday, popping up on the injury report with an ankle injury.
Williams was a limited participant on Wednesday before being downgraded to out on Thursday.
The Patriots have one more practice scheduled for Friday before heading to Buffalo for Sunday’s prime time matchup against the Bills.
Williams, who leads the team in tackles for loss (5) and is third in sacks (2), sounded upbeat while speaking at his locker on Wednesday about playing in New England’s first night game of the season.
“These are my favorite type of games,” Williams said. “In the lights, primetime, you know everybody is watching. These are the type of games that I live for, so it’s going to be good.”
“I was just talking to somebody, like we ain’t have no night game or no prime time game in a little minute, so this will be a good one.”
The injury does not appear to be “significant,” NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport said.
Defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson (knee), who missed practice on Wednesday, was a limited participant on Thursday. Carlton Davis (illness), Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring), and Marte Mapu (neck) were also limited participants.
Christian Barmore (non-injury related circumstance) was upgraded from limited to full participant on Thursday. Will Campbell (shoulder), Mike Onwenu (shoulder), Jahlani Tavai (calf), and Jared Wilson (ankle/knee) were able to participate fully.
