The Athletic predicts a postseason return to Boston for Bill Belichick
Will Belichick's first game back in the Bay State be at Fenway?
Although they play in the same conference, UNC and Boston College will not play each other this season.
But, that doesn’t completely rule out the chances of Bill Belichick returning to coach a college football game in Massachusetts this season.
The Athletic predicted that UNC will finish the season exactly where it was last season, at the Fenway Bowl. They predicted that the Tar Heels would play against Navy in that game.
Belichick’s father, Steve Belichick, served on the Navy football staff for 33 years.
Bill Belichick was announced as the new UNC football coach before last year’s Fenway Bowl, but chose not to attend the game. UNC suffered a 27-14 loss to UConn.
The Fenway Bowl will be played at Fenway Park on Dec. 27. It will feature a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference and a team from the American Athletic Conference.
UNC finished 6-7, including 3-5 in conference play last year. Expectations don’t seem much higher this year, as the Tar Heels were picked to finish eighth in the ACC’s preseason poll.
