Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs is available for training camp.

He has been cleared for full participation, according to the The Athletic’s Diana Russini.

Diggs, 31, had been a limited participant during New England’s offseason workouts this spring while rehabbing from a torn ACL that he suffered last October while playing with the Houston Texans.

The four-time Pro Bowler had posted six consecutive 1,000 yard seasons, and appeared to be on pace for a seventh when the injury cut his season short. He finished with 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games last season.

The Patriots have been starved for talent at the receiver position recently. They haven’t had a 1,000 yard receiver since Julian Edelman in 2019.

New England has had a running back (Ezekiel Elliott) and a tight-end (Hunter Henry) lead the team in catches each of the last two seasons.

Chances are that Diggs will end up leading a re-tooled version of the group which now includes free-agent addition Mack Hollins and rookie Kyle Williams.

Diggs had a strong showing during his limited action in the spring. The Patriots will continue to “monitor” his reps during training camp, Russini said.

After spending the first five seasons of his career in Minnesota, Diggs will kick off training camp with his third team in three seasons. He had a lengthy stint with the Bills and spent just one season with the Texans before signing a three-year contract with New England worth up to $69 million.
