Zolak: Patriots QB Drake Maye donated wedding gifts to those in need
"They didn’t tell anybody, but they took their wedding gifts and sent them to the homeless and help centers down there."
Last month, Drake Maye officially tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson.
But as the couple celebrated their new life together in their home state of North Carolina, the Mayes also reportedly used the occasion to give back to others.
While discussing Maye’s offseason workouts with his Patriots teammates, 98.5 The Sports Hub radio host (and Patriots radio analyst) Scott Zolak shared a story of how the newlyweds made a special gesture to their local community after their wedding.
“So the wedding gifts,” Zolak said on Tuesday during the latest taping of “Zolak & Bertrand.” “He didn’t tell anybody, and he had this supposed deal with his wife. … They did a lot of donating with the local kids shelters and stuff for the area he grew up in and some kids didn’t have [the right] size shoes, didn’t have some Christmas stuff.

“They didn’t tell anybody, but they took their wedding gifts and sent them to the homeless and help centers down there. Everything that they got, they forwarded it. They got no wedding gifts, didn’t receive any.”
It was a great gesture from both Drake and Ann Michael — who met and began dating at the age of 12, according to a TikTok post by Hudson.
Since last month’s festivities, Maye has wasted no time getting up to speed ahead of his second season with the Patriots.
Even with training camp still a few weeks away in Foxborough, Maye and several Patriots offensive players have taken part in organized workouts over the last week. Stefon Diggs, Joshua Dobbs, Rhamondre Stevenson, Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas, Ja’Lynn Polk, and rookie Kyle Williams have all taken part in the sessions with Maye.
