Here’s how Bill Belichick addressed questions about Jordon Hudson on ‘Good Morning America’

Belichick spoke to Michael Strahan on a range of topics, with his personal life coming up near the end of the interview.

In yet another prominent interview, former Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked about his relationship with Jordon Hudson.

And while an earlier interview with CBS resulted in a level of awkwardness, a new one on ABC’s “Good Morning America” managed to stay mostly on-track. As for discussion of Hudson, Belichick provided a limited response, mostly preferring to discuss their business relationship.

The Friday interview, conducted by former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, was primarily focused on Belichick’s new role as head coach of the University of North Carolina football team, and the release of his new book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.”

Strahan eventually moved to the subject of Hudson, who (unlike the CBS interview) was not present.

“A lot has been made about your relationship with Jordon Hudson,” Strahan said. “It’s been getting a lot of attention. She isn’t here this morning, but what do you think about all of the attention that your relationship has been getting?”

“Well, she’s been terrific through the whole process,” Belichick said of Hudson. “She’s been very helpful to me. She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life so I can concentrate on football.

“That’s really what I want to do,” he continued. “I acknowledged her in the book. She was very helpful on that with the tribute pages, and also giving a perspective of the book from kind of a business side. Sometimes I get a little football technical, so she did a good job of keeping me on balance there.”

Strahan attempted a simple follow-up question.

“What does Jordon mean to you?”

“Well, we have a good personal relationship,” Belichick replied. “I’m not talking about personal relationships, Michael. You know that.”

Strahan didn’t press, asking only if Belichick was happy.

“Yeah,” said the former Patriots coach with characteristic economy. Strahan added one final joke, noting that he never expected to see Belichick doing yoga.

Belichick laughed, saying that he “had a long way to go.”
