Patriots’ 2025 schedule announced: Season opener set for Sept. 7 vs. Raiders
The Patriots begin their 2025 schedule with a Week 1 home game against Pete Carroll, Geno Smith, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Patriots’ 2025 schedule was finally released on Wednesday evening, with Mike Vrabel and New England’s revamped roster set to open a new season on Sept. 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium.
New England’s season opener against the Raiders should have no shortage of storylines — especially if new Raiders minority owner Tom Brady makes the trek to Foxborough.
In total, the 2025 Patriots will have at least three primetime games on their schedule — a change of pace from a 2024 slate where they only played one night game.
New England will travel to Buffalo and take on the Bills on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 5, while the Patriots will later host the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football on Nov. 13. Just two weeks later, the Patriots will host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football on Dec. 1.
Here is New England’s full schedule for the 2025 season:
Week 1: Patriots vs. Las Vegas Raiders, 1 p.m. (Sept. 7)
Week 2: Patriots at Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m. (Sept. 14)

Here are some other schedule notes:
The Patriots will take part in three preseason games this summer, including one home game at Gillette on Friday, Aug. 8 against the Commanders. New England will then take part in a preseason bout against the Vikings on Saturday, Aug. 16 before closing out their preseason reps on Thursday, Aug. 21 against the Giants.
The 2025 schedule should present an opportunity to open the season on a strong note, as three of the team’s first four games will be held at Gillette Stadium. The team will be on the road three straight weeks in October — capped off by Vrabel’s return to face the Titans on Oct. 19.
New England will once again have a late bye week this season, with the Patriots set to have a break in Week 14 after the team’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Giants. The road isn’t easy coming out of the bye week with back-to-back matchups against the Bills (Dec. 14) and Ravens (Dec. 21).
The Patriots will avoid heading overseas for yet another international game in 2025 after taking part in games in Frankfurt, Germany (Nov. 12, 2023 vs. Colts) and London (Oct. 20, 2024 vs. Jaguars) over the last two seasons.
The Patriots’ Week 18 matchup against the Dolphins is currently listed as TBD — which means it could be held on Saturday or Sunday that weekend, and could be played at either 1 p.m., 4:25 p.m. or in a primetime slot.
