The season might be over for the New England Patriots, but quarterback Drake Maye shared on Wednesday that he recently made a big play for the win off the field.
Posting photos to Instagram, the rookie quarterback revealed that he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson, and the couple is now engaged.
“Love doing life with you. Can’t wait to marry you!” Maye wrote on the post, which included photos of the quarterback on a beach down on one knee and the couple seated on a blanket surrounded by red flowers in the sand.
Maye and Hudson are high school sweethearts and both attended University of North Carolina together, according to Sports Illustrated.
“9 years with you and it keeps getting better everyday ❤️” Hudson wrote in October on her Instagram. “I couldn’t imagine my life with out you as my best friend. I love you more than you know!”
Maye was drafted by the Patriots with their number three pick in the 2024 NFL draft. The organization was quick to offer congratulations to the rookie on Wednesday night.
“Congratulations Drake Maye and Ann Michael Hudson!!” the team wrote.
