Tedy Bruschi gives strong opinion on who should be Patriots’ next head coach
"My former team, the New England Patriots, have been absolutely a mess the last couple years in how they've handled things."
As the Patriots’ search for a head coach intensifies, many have made their pitch for apparent frontrunner Mike Vrabel.
The latest person publicly in favor of Vrabel is old teammate Tedy Bruschi, who adamantly supported Vrabel while speaking on ESPN on Saturday.
“My former team, the New England Patriots, have been absolutely a mess the last couple years in how they’ve handled things,” Bruschi said. “The only way to fix this is to hire Mike Vrabel.”
Bruschi, who won three Super Bowls with Vrabel in the early 2000s, said Vrabel “knows how to lead football players.”
“Knows how to reach football players and can deal with that ownership,” Bruschi said. “Fix the organization, Robert and Jonathan Kraft, and hire Mike Vrabel.”
The Patriots interviewed Vrabel on Thursday. On Saturday, NFL reporter Mike Giardi reported that “all signs point toward” Vrabel becoming the team’s next head coach.
Reporter Tom Pelissero noted that the Patriots and Vrabel have had contract talks.
