Former Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss announced on Sunday that he’s dealing with a medical issue and asked fans to pray for him and his family.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer announced the news in a pair of Instagram posts Sunday from the set of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” — urging men to get medical checkups regularly.

“Throughout the week of the holidays, your boy has been battling something internal,” Moss said in the Instagram video. “And I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times. … I’m battling something, man, and it’s something internal.

“Your boy’s gonna get through it. I got a great team of doctors, and I got a great family around me. All you men, man, ya’ll do your checkups and get your bloodwork done, and we’ll work through it, alright? Thank you for the prayers.”

Moss did not reveal the specific medical issue that he is dealing with. He echoed the same message from his social media post during the intro to ESPN’s broadcast.

“I put a post up maybe a few minutes ago on Instagram just telling people — you were talking about my eyes last week — and I just want to let the viewers know that me and my wife, me and my family, we are battling something internally,” Moss said before donning a pair of glasses.

Speculation first grew about Moss’s health after viewers noticed that the 47-year-old’s eyes appeared to have a yellowish tint during previous television appearances.

“If y’all see me with these … it’s not being being disrespectful because I’m on television; it’s because I’m battling something,” Moss said before putting on his glasses.

Moss — who was inducted into Canton in 2018 — led the NFL in receiving touchdowns across five seasons. He set the NFL record for most receiving touchdowns in a single season (23) during his debut year with New England in 2007.

Moss, who played for the Patriots from 2007-10, made an appearance at Tom Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame ceremony in June. During the festivities, the star receiver was moved to tears after getting an extended ovation from the crowd at Gillette Stadium.
