Report: Bengals sign ex-Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki
Gesicki is heading to Cincinnati on a one-year deal.
Mike Gesicki will sign with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The deal is reportedly worth up to $3.25 million over one season.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pound tight end spent one season with the Patriots. He caught 29 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, which were his lowest totals in those categories since his rookie season in 2018.
Gesicki has spent his entire career in the AFC. He spent five seasons with the Dolphins before joining the Patriots last year. Now, he’s heading to Cincinnati to catch passes from Joe Burrow.
The Patriots re-signed tight end Hunter Henry earlier this week. The Patriots also have La’Michael Pettway, who was promoted to the 53-man roster after Henry was placed on injured reserve last season, under contract at the position.
