Robert Kraft shares the heartfelt gift he gave Taylor Swift when she visited Foxborough
Kraft also joked that Swift should be dating Rob Gronkowski instead: "He's better looking."
More Patriots
Gillette Stadium holds a special place in Taylor Swift’s heart from her early days of touring. When the pop superstar returned to Foxborough for the Patriots-Chiefs game in December, Patriots owner Robert Kraft gifted her a priceless piece of her own history.
Kraft saved a ticket from Swift’s 2010 “Fearless” tour at Gillette — the first NFL stadium she ever sold out. He had it framed and gave it to Taylor over 13 years later.
While talking to fans, Kraft explained his role in making her appearance at Patriot Place happen in the first place.
“Her first stadium concert was on my birthday, in 2010, June 5. We convinced her and her family that she could sell out a stadium,” Kraft said. “Think about it, she was 18 or 19, and she’s done pretty well since then.”
Swift’s “Eras Tour” is selling out the largest venues in the world and is the highest-grossing tour ever, so she certainly has come a long way since that 2010 tour.
During the conversation, Kraft couldn’t hold back from making a joke about Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce, claiming she should instead be dating a different future Hall of Fame tight end: Rob Gronkowski.
“He’s better looking,” Kraft said of his former superstar pass-catcher.
Gronkowski and Kelce’s names have been intertwined, especially in recent weeks, as debates heat up for which of them is the greatest tight end of all time. Kraft chose a unique way to endorse his horse in that race.
