After trying unsuccessfully eight times before, top-ranked South Carolina women’s basketball upended No. 4 Connecticut Monday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,000. Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore was among them.

Gilmore, who played three seasons at South Carolina from 2009-11, posted a photo on Instagram, posing with South Carolina coach Dawn Staley.

“Popped up at USC to watch [Staley] and @gamecockwbb take on UConn – it was a W!” he wrote.
