Despite not picking up the sport until his senior year of high school, the Texas-native played college football at Louisiana-Monroe before transferring to Oklahoma State for his senior season in 2016. While at Oklahoma, he played in all 13 games and finished with 24 solo tackles, 14 tackle assists and two pass deflections.
He was then signed by the Packers in 2017 as an undrafted free agent, appearing in 12 games and recording fifteen tackles, 11 solo tackles, and a pass deflection while also making one special teams tackle. In 2018, he was traded to the Indiana Colts and played in one game – a 24-38 loss to the Patriots. After a short stint in Detroit, he was signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad but was waived in August.
Now, Pipkins finds himself in New England, where he will join the Patriots’ elite roster of cornerbacks that includes NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Stephon Gilmore and a promising J.C. Jackson, who earned comparisons to Malcolm Butler.
