The Bruins opened a 5-0 lead on the Capitals Monday night, finishing with 7-3 win. Boston plays next on Friday in Buffalo at 7 p.m.

The Celtics are preparing to face the Raptors at 12 p.m. tomorrow on Christmas Day in Toronto.

This weekend, the Patriots face the Dolphins this Sunday at 1 p.m.

Tom Brady was asked about the NFL’s investigation of the Patriots: As the Patriots prepare for another postseason run, the NFL continues its latest investigation of the team. The league is looking into videotaping of the Bengals sidelines done by a Kraft Sports and Entertainment employee earlier in December.

Currently, NFL investigators are trying to see if there is any connection between the videotaping — which the team says was done as part of a separate “Do Your Job” documentary project — and the Patriots’ football operations.

According to a recent report, the league is showing “frustration” over not finding any link so far.

On Monday night, Tom Brady was asked if the investigation is having any effect on the team during his weekly appearance on Westwood One Sports with Jim Gray.

“Well for me I’ve pretty much put it out of my mind,” said Brady. “I’ve not thought about it since I heard about it. I think a lot of people are making a lot of nothing, and that’s the reality for our team. We’re thinking about other things. We’re trying to focus on winning games. As a player, my job’s to go out there and do the best I can do and eliminate as many of the distractions. A lot of people are trying to make this a distraction for us, and we’re not going to allow that to happen.”

On this day: In 2011, the Patriots defeated the Dolphins, 27-24. After falling behind 17-0, New England mounted a furious rally, scoring 27 unanswered points. Tom Brady rushed for two one-yard touchdown runs. Brady has only done that three times in his career in the regular season, including earlier this year against the Giants.
