New England’s coach received incredulous praise from the Monday Night Football commentators for his relentless commitment even as his team was cruising to what was an eventual 33-0 win.
On Wednesday night, the Patriots released “sound and sights” from the game, including soundbites from Belichick’s sideline huddle with his dominant defense.
“OK look, we talked about this, them calling the game tight,” Belichick told his team. “OK, and they’re calling it tight. They’re calling the [defensive pass interferences] tight, they called it tight on the Jets down near the goal line on them too. They they called roughing the passer tight. OK, we got to do a better job on that.”
He also warned his team of the danger posed by Jets running back Le’Veon Bell.
“All his runs are cut-backs, we got to wrap this guy up. He’s running hard. We got to get a a lot of hats on him and wrap him up. But he’s a cut back runner, alright? Come on, fellas, everybody do our job here, do our job in the running game, alright? And no penalties.”

A vintage bit of deadpan humor from Revolution coach Bruce Arena:
Arena, on whether his love for coaching was rekindled this year: “I’ll be coaching next year, I can tell you that. I know that much. Well, I’m hopefully coaching next year. I might get hit by a bus between now and then.”
Classic Bruce. #NERevs
