Tom Brady addressed the Patriots’ subpar offense and the team’s injuries

The Patriots defeated the Giants on Thursday, 35-14. While the defense put on a strong performance that included a blocked punt and four forced turnovers, the offense struggled. Quarterback Tom Brady threw an interception in the first half (“bad decision”), lost a fumble, and delivered zero touchdown passes.
Still, he did manage to add in two touchdown QB sneaks and, thanks to a 19-yard pass to Sony Michel in the first quarter, officially passed Peyton Manning for second place in all-time passing yardage.
From @ESPNStatsInfo: This is the first time since Week 12 of 2017 that Tom Brady has thrown an interception and lost a fumble in the same game.

When asked if he thought that the Patriots’ offense has been”good enough” this season so far, Brady hesitated, shrugged, and had little to say.

“We’ll see,” he said. “We’re 6-0, try to get to 7-0.”
Brady did, however, explain that the team had to make some “adjustments” on offense due to injuries to Dont’a Hightower, Jakob Johnson, Phillip Dorsett, Josh Gordon, Matt LaCosse, J.C Jackson, and Patrick Chung,
“You’ve just gotta make adjustments,” he said. “Guys kind of just filled in. We knew we weren’t going to have Phillip tonight after two days ago, then Josh got hurt. Dealing with what everyone else deals with this time of year , a lot of injuries and attrition.”
Those who “filled in” included younger players across positions that stepped up when it counted. A big play came from rookie defensive end Chase Winovich, who scored the first touchdown of the game, his first ever career touchdown, off of a blocked punt.
“They made some really good plays, I’m happy with what they did,” Brady said. “Great contributions. I’m really happy for those guys…When I was young, I was trying to be on time and not forget my playbook anywhere. These guys are kind of in a different role than that. They’re playing in games and contributing…That’s what we needed.”
