Rounding up the injured Patriots from Week 6
Six Patriots were hurt during their 35-14 victory over the Giants Thursday night.
The Patriots disposed of the Giants, 35-14, Thursday night, pushing their record to 6-0 on the season. Despite the win, it wasn’t all positives, as the team suffered a multitude of injuries at key positions. Here is a roundup of everyone who was injured Thursday night.
Patrick Chung
Chung suffered a chest injury during the first half of the game Thursday. He didn’t return and only played eight snaps. Prior to the game Thursday, Chung was listed as questionable with a heel injury.
Josh Gordon
Gordon suffered a scary knee injury late in the second quarter. The injury came after Gordon attempted to make a tackle following a Tom Brady pick-six. While Gordon didn’t return to the game, he was seen riding the stationary bike on the sideline, leading some to believe Gordon may have avoided what could have been a serious injury.
Matt LaCosse
LaCosse has been dealing with injuries all season, and early in the first quarter, that trend continued for the 27-year-old tight end when he was knocked out of the game with an apparent knee injury. The injury led to tight end Ryan Izzo taking 80 of the team’s 82 offensive snaps. According to the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, he was seen limping in the locker room following the game.
Dont’a Hightower
Hightower was taken to the medical tent with a shoulder injury in the second half. Hightower was held out during the Patriots’ Week 4 matchup against the Buffalo Bills with a shoulder injury, opening the possibility that he re-aggravated it Thursday.
Jakob Johnson
Johnson left the game with a shoulder injury in the second half and did not return. If Johnson’s injury is determined to be serious, the Patriots will not have a fullback on their active roster with James Develin out.
J.C Jackson
The Patriots defensive back left with a knee injury in the second half and was listed as questionable to return.
The status of everyone who was hurt in Thursday’s game remains unclear at the moment, but the Patriots do have an 11-day break before their next game, a Week 7 matchup with the Jets.
