The Patriots’ thrilling 37-31 overtime win over the Chiefs in the 2018 AFC Championship Game was voted on an NFL Network special as the 36th greatest game in league history.

New England’s win over Kansas City in January had four lead changes in the fourth quarter before the game went to overtime. The Patriots drove down the field in the first possession of overtime and Rex Burkhead ran in the game-winning score to send them to their third straight Super Bowl appearance.

That win was the highest Patriots win on the list so far as only the No. 31-100 greatest games were revealed on Friday. The 30 greatest games will be revealed Friday, Oct. 4.

The games were voted on by a panel of 68 media members for a program titled the “NFL 100 Greatest” games to celebrate the league’s 100th season, with the No. 31-100 games revealed on Friday night.

Another Patriots win was ranked right behind. The Patriots’ 32-29 win over the Panthers in Super Bowl XVIII was voted the 37th greatest game in league history.

There were 37 combined points scored in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XVIII. The final three came from Adam Vinatieri, who made a 41-yard field goal to give the Patriots the lead with four seconds left.

The only other game involving the Patriots revealed in Friday’s rankings was the 1982 “Snowplow Game,” which was ranked No. 94. In that game, the Patriots knocked off the Dolphins, 3-0, after Patriots head coach Ron Meyer called for the Schaefer Stadium snowplow operator to clear a spot for John Smith’s game-winning kick.
