There’s no argument from John Elway that Tom Brady is the best ever
“I think it's very difficult to find somebody else that's had a better career."
Tom Brady has put together one of the greatest careers of all-time over his 20 seasons in the NFL. Denver Broncos Hall of Fame quarterback and current general manager John Elway joined WEEI’s Greg Hill Show on Wednesday and made the argument that Brady is the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL. “I think it’s very difficult to find somebody else that’s had a better career,” Elway said. “When you have as many [Super Bowl championships] as Tom has, it’s hard to argue that he’s not the greatest.”Elway says that Brady’s six Super Bowl titles put him on another level compared to other quarterbacks.“I think when you look at the success he’s had, the numbers he’s put up, the wins that he’s had, but also the world championships,” Elway said. “Obviously there’s a lot of great quarterbacks that have played in the NFL that don’t have world championships, but I think that’s one sign of a great quarterback.”When asked why he thinks Brady has been able to have success for as long as he has, Elway says that it’s because of “the way he takes care of his body.” Brady is showing no signs of slowing down at 42 years old. Through three games the Patriots are 3-0 and Brady has thrown seven touchdowns, zero interceptions, and has a completion percentage of nearly 68 percent. With this level of success at this age and no sign of slowing down, Elway thinks Brady could realistically play until he is 45.
“There’s been nothing that he’s shown in the first three weeks of this year to show that he can’t play until he’s 45,” Elway said.
Elway himself is no stranger to success. A member of the Hall of Fame, Elway led the Denver Broncos to two Super Bowl championships and made nine Pro Bowls in his 16-year career.
Brady will look to keep his strong season going this Sunday as the Patriots take on the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field.
