Watch Tom Brady dive to block a Jets player with the Patriots up 23 points
Some reviews were more favorable than others.
With his team up 23 points against the New York Jets early in the fourth quarter of what would eventually become a 30-14 win Sunday, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tried to block Jamal Adams, drawing plenty of reactions on Twitter in the process.
On a reverse to wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, the 42-year-old quarterback followed the play and flailed his body with the goal of impeding Adams’ progress. He didn’t do so, but he also didn’t get injured, and that was enough for Patriots fans to breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Here are a few of the best responses to the attempt, including some mixed reviews.
Here’s the @TomBrady block play, he basically missed but up 30-7 in the 4th quarter and the 42-year old QB, best of all-time, is going after blocking an All-Pro Safety @TheAdamsEra https://t.co/DLjlxHyDZO

Jamal Adams was not at all interested in getting blockd by Tom Brady. It was kind of an effective block though!

Tom Brady just tried to block Jamal Adams and didn’t fail miserably. Got in his way to slow him down

This isn’t uncharted territory, as he’s periodically found himself in similar situations in the past. Some have ended with less contact than others.
