Patriots fullback James Develin will miss Sunday’s Jets game
Develin had four touchdowns last year in 16 regular-season games.
New England fullback James Develin is out for Sunday’s game between the Patriots and the New York Jets as he recovers from an neck injury, the team announced Friday.
James Develin is dealing with an upper back and neck injury that will likely keep him out Sunday against the Jets, but it’s considered a week-to-week situation, per source.

Develin sat out three consecutive practices this week along with outside linebacker Shilique Calhoun. The Athletic’s Jeff Howe said Develin’s injury is considered a “week-to-week” situation.
He didn’t get any carries in a Week 1 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he was on the field for 46 percent of the offensive snaps. The next week, against the Miami Dolphins, he was on the field for 37 percent of the snaps and finished with two carries for three yards.
Develin — who thrives as a blocker and a goal-line specialist — had four touchdowns last year in 16 regular-season games.
