Are the Patriots the NFL’s version of an NBA super team? Former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch seems to think so.

On the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, the two-time Super Bowl champion compared the Patriots’ employment of Tom Brady and Antonio Brown to the Golden State Warriors rostering both Steph Curry and (former Warrior) Kevin Durant. Both teams have dominated in their respective leagues, winning championship titles in 2015 and 2017.

“The New England situation reminds me of Golden State,” Batch said. “You’re like, okay Steph Curry is already good but you add Kevin Durant into that? Are you kidding me! Now all of sudden here you are adding Antonio Brown [and] I’m like, ‘Wow! How can that even happen?’ It baffles me.”

Batch continued to express his admiration for Brady’s performance, despite his age.

“Whatever workout Tom [Brady] is doing up there is working for him,” he said. “[He’s spent] 20 years in this league and half of them you’re in the Super Bowl…Tom is doing nothing but getting better and now quarterbacks are being knocked off with injury. He is the elder spokesperson now versus all these younger guys.”

For this upcoming season, Batch predicted that the Patriots will compete in the Super Bowl for a fourth year in a row.

“All signs are indicating that it’s probably going to be a Kansas City-New England AFC Championship game,” he said. “We’ll probably see Tom [Brady] in a championship, again.”
