How Josh Gordon did in his 2019 Patriots debut
Thursday was Gordon's first game since Dec. 16, 2018.
Patriots fans were treated to the long-awaited return of wide receiver Josh Gordon Thursday night.Gordon played the first half of the Patriots’ preseason finale against the Giants and was greeted to a chorus of applause from fans before the start of the game. Gordon’s performance was mixed. He caught two passes for 30 yards and was targeted six times in his 22 snaps played Thursday night. He also drew a 35-yard pass interference penalty. He also showed some signs of rust, dropping a pass in the first quarter.
Gordon last played on Dec. 16, 2018 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He caught one pass for 19 yards in a 17-10 loss.
Gordon’s first catch since being reinstated was a nice 19-yard grab followed by a broken tackle on a third down in the first quarter.

Last season Gordon played 11 games before being suspended for violating the NFL’s drug policy. In his 11 games, Gordon caught 40 passes for 720 yards and three touchdowns.
The Patriots open their season Sunday, Sept. 8, against the Steelers.
