After winning his sixth Super Bowl, Tom Brady was in the eye of a media storm. He calmly answered questions amid a chaotic postgame scene after the Patriots defeated the Rams to win Super Bowl LIII, 13-3.

“We been this far and lost, which is really tough” Brady said of this time last year. “I think we just had a lot of resolve the last couple weeks. I wish we’d played a little bit better on offense, but we won. I can’t believe it.”

Brady also dealt with a question about whether he would retire, reiterating his desire to continue playing.

“It doesn’t change anything,” Brady said of his future. “I can’t wait to just spend some time with my family, my wife and my kids. I couldn’t do it without their support. It’s just been a great year. I’m so happy for my teammates. This is a dream come true for all of us.”

Standing on stage after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell presented the Vince Lombardi Trophy, Brady thanked the fans in Atlanta for making the Patriots feel right at home.

“The support here was like a home game. We could’ve been at Gillette Stadium,” he said, adding that, “I think we might have a parade or something like that on Tuesday.”

And in the postgame press conference, Brady explained what he said to Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman after the win.

“He played the best game he’s played all year,” Brady said. “[I’m] so proud of him, what he’s accomplished coming back from his ACL [injury]. He just fought it out, grinded it out like everyone else.”

Brady also offered an explanation for why Edelman has been so clutch for New England.

“Why does he rise to the occasion? He always does, he’s a fighter. That kid, I’m just so proud of him. He’s been an incredible player for this team, and [in] the playoffs. He just cemented himself again in the history of the NFL for what his accomplishments are.”
