ATLANTA — Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman and his social media team have been quite active ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, posting three hype videos in the days leading up to the 6:30 p.m. kickoff against the Los Angeles Rams.

The first was a spoof of the opening credits for “Growing Pains,” a television series that aired in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Titled “Growing Pats 2,” Edelman’s rendition was “created by” team owner Robert Kraft, “introduced” cornerback Jason McCourty, and starred himself, tight end Rob Gronkowski, quarterback Tom Brady, and safety Devin McCourty. For each player, the clip showed an assortment of photos and highlights from childhood, high school, college, and the NFL.

The second, reminiscent of Brady’s hype videos from last season, was set to a ticking clock and narration of a Dylan Thomas poem called “Do not go gentle into that good night.” Splicing together scenes from the franchise’s first Super Bowl title — in 2002 also against the Rams — with those from this season, the video focuses on Brady’s longevity. “Time is an illusion,” Edelman wrote in the caption.

The excerpt from the poem reads as follows:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

The third and final video, posted Sunday morning, was created by the same artist that designed wide receiver Josh Gordon’s animated Instagram series before he was suspended in December. Featuring Edelman’s iconic red gloves, the clip shows the bearded 32-year-old traversing through snow to get to the peak of a mountain, where he opens his arms and screams, “Let’s go!”
