Julian Edelman says he’ll shave his beard if the Patriots win the Super Bowl
"I actually shaved two days ago."
Julian Edelman was able to accomplish something not too many wide receivers have been able to do: Throw NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders off his game.
Sanders, now with NFL Network, “interviewed’’ Edelman at Super Bowl Opening Night.
“I just can’t see you with this beard,’’ said Sanders. “This beard is doing something to me. I’’m sorry. I’m just all … it don’t look right man!’’
With that, he placed the microphone in front of Edelman, apparently thinking he had formed a question.
“I actually shaved two days ago,’’ Edelman deadpanned.
“Stop,’’ replied Sanders, who seemed to think Edelman was serious.
“It just grows back. It just grows back,’’ Edelman said with a shrug.
The beard isn’t exactly a new look for No. 11, as Edelman also ditched his razor in the Patriots’ Super Bowl runs in the 2014 and 2016.
“I appreciate you man,’’ Sanders said as he concluded his interview. “Will you shave? If you win will you shave?’’
“I gotchu,’’ replied Edelman.
