The New England Patriots are usually pretty careful about giving opponents bulletin board material. However, it seems like Patrick Chung’s remarks during the team’s Super Bowl LIII send-off rally Sunday in Foxborough have been noticed in Los Angeles.

“We gonna go out there and kick their ass, baby,” Chung told tens of thousands of Patriots fans inside Gillette Stadium, leading the crowd in a “Beat L.A.” cheer.

Several hours later, the Los Angeles Rams held their own respective send-off rally Sunday at the site of their future stadium in Inglewood — and wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who the Patriots traded to the Rams last April, delivered a direct response to the Patriots safety.

“Hey Chung, we heard you talking that talk back there in Foxborough,” Cooks said from the stage.

“Let’s get straight,” he added, before dropping the mic.

Cooks has already beat one former team, the New Orleans Saints, this postseason. If the 25-year-old needed any extra motivation to do so again in the Super Bowl, he apparently now has it.
