Kyle Van Noy had some advice for a vocal Tom Brady critic
ESPN's Max Kellerman drew Van Noy's attention during a radio interview on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
As Tom Brady acknowledged earlier this week, the Patriots aren’t able to completely avoid seeing team critics in the media. Still, it’s rare for a player to offer a direct response.
That’s exactly what happened on Wednesday, when New England linebacker Kyle Van Noy offered some advice to ESPN’s Max Kellerman. As a co-host on “First Take” with Stephen A. Smith, Kellerman has been a consistent critic of Brady’s in particular.
Even after the 41-year-old quarterback carved up the Chargers’ defense for 343 yards passing in the Patriots’ 41-28 playoff win on Sunday, Kellerman refused to credit Brady.
“A lot of guys could’ve thrown to every receiver when every receiver was open by 10 yards,” Kellerman said on Monday. “He threw into zero tight windows. He faced zero pressure.”

Van Noy, speaking on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand,” brought up Kellerman unprompted. He thanked one of the radio show’s co-hosts, Scott Zolak (also a Patriots radio commentator) for calling out Kellerman with a NSFW tweet.
“First, I want to start this show off with Mr. Zolak with his little tweet at Max Kellerman,” said Van Noy.
“I just wanted to commend you for that,” Van Noy added.
When asked if the Patriots are aware of what Kellerman’s been saying about Brady and the team, Van Noy had a ready response.
“Well maybe since everybody says we need to stick to football, he needs to stick to his boxing, whatever he does.”
Before joining “First Take” in 2016, Kellerman had a lengthy career as a boxing commentator.
The Patriots head into Kansas City to play the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday at 6:40 p.m.
