The Bruins fell at home to the Canucks in a high-scoring 8-5 loss, while the Celtics rallied from 22 points down to stage a 116-109 comeback win over the Suns on Thursday night.

Malcolm Butler acknowledged his tough start to the 2018 season: After his controversial and mysterious benching for all but one special teams snap of Super Bowl LII, cornerback Malcolm Butler left the Patriots in free agency.

The 28-year-old cornerback signed with the Titans on a five-year, $61.25 million deal. Yet he’s had a difficult time so far in 2018, allowing a myriad of touchdowns thrown in his direction.

In an interview with Jeff Howe of The Athletic, Butler opened up about his on-field difficulties this year.

“Most definitely, the big contract, a different team, left New England on a not-so-well note and it looks like it’s carrying over,” Butler said. “Everything is just, I don’t know, it is what it is. It’s life. I’ve just got to keep scrapping, man, like I always do.”

Under former Patriot and first-year Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel, Butler has consistently remained a starter despite his less-than-ideal performance this season. He was candid with Howe about how things have gone through the Titans’s 4-4 start to the year, but he remained upbeat.

“Not too good,” Butler acknowledged. “I wish it could be better, hope to get better. I know it’s going to get better. I just take it for what it is. It’s only up to me to change it. Nobody else can do it. I’ve always been the underdog, always been at the bottom coming out of slumps, so I’m looking forward to doing it again.”
