Against the Packers, Josh Gordon had one touchdown, five catches, and 130 yards — plus a finger popped back into place “a couple times.”

The Patriots wide receiver nonchalantly told reporters after his team’s 31-17 victory that his finger dislocated and had to be relocated back where it belonged multiple times on the sideline.

“I guess it was just like a freak accident, nothing too crazy,” Gordon said. “But after one of the slant routes, some pressure fell on it and it dislocated so I popped it back into place a couple times throughout the game, for the rest of the game. It’s fine, though.”

Tom Brady targeted Gordon 10 times on Sunday night. The September trade acquisition made the most of the opportunities, especially on the fourth quarter touchdown that sealed the Patriots win. Brady looked off the Green Bay defense before lofting a pass to Gordon downfield. The wideout stepped around a would-be tackler as he reeled in the football, then raced for six points.

“We caught ‘em off balance, switching defenses in transition,” Gordon said of the play. “They dropped back into a zone, somebody just forgot to cover me, and I was able to idle. Tom saw it, we all saw it. Just had to make a break on the ball and then try to finish the play after that.”

Brady noted Julian Edelman thought he was targeting him on the play, but the quarterback had spotted Gordon further downfield.

“Josh made a great catch and run,” Brady said. “It was a big play in the game. We needed it, a play like that.”

Gordon has 396 receiving yards through six games with the Patriots.
